Activities

MONDAY MORNING STUDIO – All Welcome

We meet each Monday, from 9.00am to 1.30pm, at the Randwick Literary Institute, 60 Clovelly Road, Randwick NSW. (one block north of Frenchman’s Road). It is a very friendly, relaxed atmosphere and new members are most welcome to attend.

We have fellow members who act as volunteer Mentors in oils and watercolour, and we often provide support and feedback to each other and learn in that way. Our members choose their own medium – we have people sketching, using pastels, watercolour, oils and acrylics. Just bring your current project and art or craft supplies along and get painting, etc. We look forward to seeing you there.

We have a regular schedule of activities which you are invited to participate in, or you may wish to pursue your own project or artwork: –

1st Monday of the month – Still life (a couple of still life settings will be set up for those wish to participate )

2nd Monday of the month – Your own project

3rd Monday of the month – Demonstration by invited artist. (Check the what’s on page for upcoming demonstrations)

4th Monday of the month – Portraiture

5th Monday of the month – Still life

Kitchen facilities

A kettle is available to have morning tea or lunch with us; tea and coffee is supplied. (Please bring your own food). There is also a small park adjoining the Institute, if you wish to take a break and sit outside.

Fees

There is a small weekly fee of $4.00, which assists with costs of renting the premises for the morning.

DEMONSTRATIONS AND WORKSHOPS

2014-Goodes_6

Randwick Art Society offers Art Demonstrations and Workshops from time to time.

In 2013, we had two guest artist presentations. In July, Jayne Goodes gave a presentation on felting (photo left) and her involvement with a community knitting project called ‘Wrap with Love’; then in August Roz Psakis, a five-time winner of the ‘Art of Sydney’ Award, gave a presentation on oil painting. (photo below right). You can view a Slide Show of photographs from the demonstration by Ros Psakis at the bottom of this page. Go to Ros Psakis Slide Show. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
